Referral

A client may self-refer without obtaining a referral from a doctor. During the first contact an intake interview will allow basic questions to be asked to determine if the counselling would be helpful, if the therapist is suitable or if a referral should be made to another professional.

Professional Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Counselling (Acadia University 2012)
  • Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)
  • Registered Counselling Therapist, Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT)
  • Accredited Music Therapist - Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT)
  • Professional Member of the Atlantic Association for Music Therapy (AAMT)

Fees and Payment

Services are not covered by MSI, some extended health plans may offer some coverage for counselling services. Please check with your insurance provider.

Sessions are usually about 60-90 minutes long. Fees are $80.00 per session and payable by the client at each session. Group sessions or workshops are priced separately depending on details.
